Popular AI chatbot ChatGPT experienced a brief outage on Thursday, leaving many users unable to access the service. Reports of the disruption began surging around 3:33 AM PST, according to Downdetector, a website that tracks online service outages.

OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, acknowledged the issue on its Status website and stated that it had been resolved by 4:23 AM PST. The cause of the outage remains unknown, but OpenAI confirmed that the problem had been identified and a fix was implemented.

ChatGPT is a large language model chatbot with over 200 million weekly active users. The outage highlights the growing reliance on AI tools and the potential disruptions that can occur when these services go down.
