George Russell wins Canadian Grand Prix

George Russell claimed victory at the Canadian Grand Prix, securing Mercedes’ first win of the season in the 10th round of the Formula 1 World Championship.

British Mercedes driver George Russell has won the 10th round of the Formula 1 World Championship — the Canadian Grand Prix.

The race was held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Quebec.

Second place went to Dutchman Max Verstappen of Red Bull, while Italian Kimi Antonelli, also of Mercedes, finished third.

Championship leader Oscar Piastri came in fourth after an intense battle with teammate Lando Norris, which ended in contact between the two. Norris was forced to retire and finished 18th.

The next race will be held in Austria from 27 to 29 June. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is scheduled for 19 to 21 September in Baku.
