Think tanks from across the Turkic world gathered in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for the second edition of a major forum focused on regional cooperation, culture, and strategy.
The event, titled “Turkic World Think Tanks II: Eastern Mediterranean and Northern Cyprus Forum,” was held in Girne and organized by the Diplomacy Foundation, with support from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and hosted by the Union of International Democrats (UID) in the TRNC.
Participants included experts and institutions from both member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). Key sessions explored the themes: “From Brotherhood to Strategic Partnership in the Turkic World,” “Civilization and Culture: Sustainable Integration,” and “Imagining the Future: The Turkic World and Northern Cyprus.”
TRNC Parliament Speaker Ziya Öztürkler, delivering the forum’s closing remarks, said the gathering was a valuable opportunity for the country to highlight its place in the Turkic world—not just in politics and economy, but in ideas and culture as well.
The forum wraps up Friday with a cultural tour offering participants a closer look at the TRNC’s heritage and identity.
