Malaysia’s Prime Minister has halted ministers' leave as deadly floods displace over 90,000 people, with heavy rains forecast to continue. Rescue teams are deployed amid worsening conditions.

Malaysia's Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, has ordered cabinet members to cancel any leave and focus on flood relief efforts, as the country faces its worst flood disaster in a decade.

Over 90,000 people have been displaced, with three reported dead, following torrential rains, especially in Kelantan and Terengganu.

The floods, common during Malaysia’s monsoon season, have caused widespread damage, with rivers overflowing and homes submerged.

The Meteorological Department forecasts continued heavy rainfall until Saturday, and authorities have deployed over 82,000 personnel, along with boats and helicopters, to assist with rescue operations.

The floods have also affected southern Thailand, causing fatalities and widespread displacement.
