According to reports from SavunmaSanayiST.com, the Pakistan Air Force successfully shot down a French-made Rafale fighter jet, along with several other Indian military aircraft, utilizing Chinese-made PL-15 air-to-air missiles during the latest escalation in hostilities. The advanced PL-15 missile, with a range of up to 230 km, enabled Pakistani pilots to target Indian aircraft from long distances, well before entering close-range combat.
Developed by China’s defense industry, the PL-15 missile is a next-generation weapon, weighing 230 kg, measuring 4 meters in length, and capable of reaching speeds up to Mach 4 (4,773 km/h). The missile features an active radar seeker with an electronically scanned array, offering a clear advantage in aerial combat.
