Azerbaijan is committed to deepening its mutually beneficial ties with Belarus, Prime Minister Ali Asadov said during an extended meeting with his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Turchin, who is currently on an official visit to Azerbaijan.
Asadov highlighted that the discussions were thorough and productive, focusing on key aspects of bilateral cooperation. He emphasized that both sides agreed to step up efforts to fulfill the directives of their presidents through intergovernmental collaboration. He credited the strong personal involvement of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Aleksandr Lukashenko for the steady and comprehensive development of Azerbaijani-Belarusian relations.
He also pointed out that high-level visits, official meetings, and signed agreements have all contributed to strengthening this strategic partnership, which has proven resilient over time. Belarusian Prime Minister Turchin echoed this sentiment, stressing that the close ties between the leaders of both nations reflect the depth of their relationship.
Turchin noted that economic and trade cooperation is the foundation of their partnership, encompassing many sectors and marked by strong momentum. He observed that trade between the two countries increased last year, though there is still room for growth. He added that both sides are interested in joint efforts to rebuild territories, particularly through housing projects and expanding the production sector. Future cooperation may also include industrial partnerships and collaboration in areas such as fire safety equipment and municipal services.
