Protesters and police clashed in the Israeli town of Mazor as crowds rallied against Prime Minister Netanyahu’s ongoing war in Gaza.
Dozens of protesters and police clashed in the central Israeli town of Mazor, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was expected to make an appearance.
The demonstrators voiced strong opposition to Netanyahu’s pledge to continue the war with Hamas and called for an immediate end to the conflict, as well as the release of the 59 remaining hostages held in Gaza.
Tensions escalated as protesters pushed against police barricades, with some attempting to force their way through a temporary gate. Many held signs and chanted slogans accusing Netanyahu of dragging out a war they say has only brought devastation.
Netanyahu has defended his decision to intensify military operations in Gaza, arguing that Hamas had rejected a proposed temporary ceasefire earlier in the week. The group instead demanded a comprehensive agreement to end the war in return for the hostages.
