China's Commerce Ministry stated on Thursday that the country is open to dialogue with the United States, but such discussions must be conducted based on mutual respect and equality.
Ministry spokesperson He Yongqian emphasized that pressure, threats, and blackmail are not appropriate approaches when dealing with China. His comments came in response to a question regarding whether tariff negotiations had begun between the two largest global economies.
"If the U.S. insists on its own way, China will follow through to the end," He added, underlining China's stance on standing firm in its trade policies.
