Russia has rejected claims of any contradictions between its statement and the White House's readout following a telephone call between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, regarding a ceasefire agreement with Ukraine.

Russia dismissed claims on Thursday of any contradictions between the Kremlin's and White House's statements following this week's phone call between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

After the call, the Kremlin announced an agreement for a mutual ceasefire with Ukraine focused on protecting "energy infrastructure," while the White House used the term "energy and infrastructure ceasefire," which suggested a broader scope, potentially including other critical infrastructure like roads and bridges.

When questioned about the discrepancies, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova emphasized that it's common for different countries to release statements with slight variations. She assured that the key point was there were no contradictions between the two versions.
