At least two people were injured when several shots were fired near the state courthouse in Bielefeld in western Germany on Wednesday afternoon, police reported.
Authorities stated that the incident occurred on a street adjacent to the courthouse in the early afternoon. The severity of the injuries has not yet been confirmed.
Police have not ruled out a connection between the shooting and an ongoing trial at the courthouse. A suspect is currently on trial for the murder of former boxer Besar Nimani, who was fatally shot in Bielefeld nearly a year ago.
