An Israeli drone strike in Rafah has killed three police officers and injured several others despite an ongoing ceasefire
Three police officers have been killed and several others injured after Israel launched a drone strike in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.
According to the Gaza Interior Ministry, the officers were securing the delivery of aid trucks from the Karem Abu Salem crossing to the main road leading into the city when the attack occurred.
The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed the strike, stating that an Israeli military drone targeted Palestinian militants who were approaching Israeli forces in the area, resulting in casualties.
The Israeli military has reiterated its call for Gaza residents to follow its directives and avoid approaching Israeli forces stationed in the region.
Meanwhile, the Hamas-run Gaza media office condemned the drone strike, accusing Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement brokered by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States. The office also criticized Israel for blocking the entry of recreational vehicles and heavy equipment into Gaza.
Reports indicate that since the ceasefire began, the Israeli military has destroyed more than 60 buildings in Rafah.
