In a statement on X, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine was ready to halt strikes on Russian energy facilities if Moscow stops targeting Ukraine’s energy sector, critical infrastructure, and food exports.
“Ukraine’s energy sector, critical infrastructure and our food exports must stop being targets for Russia, and this will lead to matching de-escalation steps on our part,” he said.
He said Kyiv was ready to discuss the issue with the U.S. and other partners on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
