More than 30 bodies have been pulled from the water by emergency crews after a fatal crash near Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., according to sources cited by local station NBC4, The Guardian reports.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. local time on Wednesday when an American Airlines jet, carrying 60 passengers and four crew members, collided mid-air with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter transporting three soldiers. Both aircraft plunged into the icy waters of the Potomac River. In response, approximately 300 first responders have been mobilized for an extensive search and rescue operation.
