The 4th International Dog Sled Racing Competition brought speed, skill and festive energy to Ladova Park in Stratena, Slovakia, on Saturday, as mushers and their dogs competed across snow-covered terrain.

Competitors from different regions gathered at the mountain resort on 31 January, harnessing teams of dogs for races through the frozen landscape. The event showcased a variety of dog breeds, each trained to work in unison with their handlers as they navigated challenging winter conditions.

Ahead of the races, mushers were seen carefully preparing their teams, adjusting equipment and tending to the dogs to ensure they were race-ready. Footage from the competition captured the intensity of the preparations, highlighting the close bond between handlers and their animals.

As the races began, sleds sped through Ladova Park, drawing applause from spectators who braved the cold to watch. The atmosphere remained upbeat throughout the day, with mascots and entertainment adding a family-friendly feel to the sporting event.
