Australian police fatally shot a man outside Manning Hospital in Taree, New South Wales, on Thursday.
The man, reportedly in his 30s, allegedly aimed a firearm at officers in the hospital's parking lot, as reported by ABC News.
Police were initially alerted following reports of a man firing shots into the air on Rouse Street in Wingham. After being shot, the man received first aid and was transported into the hospital, where he later died.
Authorities have announced an independent review to determine accountability for the incident.
