Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will join a meeting of Ukraine’s allies, known as the “coalition of the willing,” in London on Friday, French President Emmanuel Macron announced, as Kyiv seeks to strengthen international backing in its fight against Russia.

“On Friday, we will hold a meeting of the coalition of the willing — partly virtual and partly in person — in London, and President Zelenskyy will take part,” Macron told reporters in Slovenia on Monday.

The “coalition of the willing,” formed by France and Britain in February, has been holding talks at various levels for several months to outline potential military contributions to Ukraine and discuss ways to deter future Russian aggression once a lasting ceasefire is in place.

On Monday, Zelenskyy described his recent meeting with President Donald Trump as a success, saying it had advanced discussions on securing new air defence systems — countering reports that Trump had verbally lashed out at him during talks at the White House.
