President Donald Trump called Iran’s response to a US war proposal “totally unacceptable” after Tehran sent its reply through mediator Pakistan, according to IRNA. Qatar’s al-Thani also warned Iran against using the Strait of Hormuz as “a pressure tool”.

Iranian Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi has been transferred to a hospital in Tehran and granted a suspension of her prison sentence on heavy bail, according to a foundation run by her family.

Mohammadi, 54, who won the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize while imprisoned for campaigning for women’s rights and against the death penalty, suffered a heart attack two weeks ago. Her family had called for her transfer from Zanjan prison to receive specialist medical treatment.

The Narges Mohammadi Foundation said she is now being treated at Tehran Pars Hospital by her own medical team, but added that “a suspension is not enough” and called for her permanent release.

The UAE Ministry of Defence said its air defence systems intercepted two unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran on 10 May 2026.

In a statement, the ministry said that since what it described as the start of Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have intercepted a total of 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles and 2,265 UAVs.

The ministry said no deaths or injuries were reported in the past several hours. Overall, it said two people have been killed since the attacks began, along with one Moroccan civilian contracted with the armed forces, while civilian deaths total 10 involving nationals from several countries.

It added that 230 people have been injured, from a wide range of nationalities. The ministry said the armed forces remain fully prepared to respond to any threats and would act firmly to protect the country’s security, sovereignty and stability.
