China announced it is normalizing relations with the European Parliament, lifting previous restrictions on mutual exchanges as both sides aim to strengthen economic and political ties.
China’s foreign ministry confirmed that Beijing and the European Parliament are restoring normal communication channels after disruptions caused by disputes over alleged human rights abuses in Xinjiang.
"Under current circumstances, both sides believe it is very important for China and Europe to strengthen dialogue and cooperation," spokesperson Lin Jian said, and adding that all restrictions on mutual exchanges of lawmakers have been lifted.
