Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has told Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani that Ankara is committed to eradicating terrorism permanently from the region.
During a phone call on Saturday, Erdogan said the Terror-Free Türkiye process is being carried out “with great care” and stressed that his government will remain vigilant against any efforts to undermine it.
“We are determined to eliminate terrorism once and for all,” Erdogan was quoted as saying, according to a statement from Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.
The two leaders also discussed wider regional and global issues. Erdogan noted that Türkiye and Iraq are continuing to build stronger ties, especially through joint projects like the Development Road initiative.
He said both countries are working to expand cooperation in areas that benefit both sides.
