Iran reopens its airspace to international flights, fully restores aviation operations

IRNA

Mehrabad and Imam Khomeini airports, along with regional airports in the north, east, west, and south of the country, have resumed operations in Iran and are fully prepared to provide flight services.

The decision was made following comprehensive security and safety assessments, inter-agency coordination, and extensive consultations among aviation industry stakeholders, with the approval of the Civil Aviation Organization Coordination Committee.

According to the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, domestic and international flights will operate at all airports across the country—except for Isfahan and Tabriz airports—between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Once the necessary infrastructure at Isfahan and Tabriz airports is in place and no other restrictions remain, these two airports will also rejoin the national air transport network.
