A court in Baku has ordered four months of pre-trial detention for all eight Russian citizens accused of trafficking drugs from Iran.
The rulings were delivered by Judge Ulviyya Shukurova at the Sabail District Court. Each of the suspects was brought before the court individually throughout the day.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the group is suspected of transporting narcotics from Iran, distributing them online, and committing cyber-related offences.
They were detained as part of a police operation targeting two organised criminal groups believed to be involved in these activities.
All eight remain in custody while investigations continue.
