The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MFA), along with our embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the consulate general in Tabriz, continues the process of evacuating Azerbaijani citizens and foreigners from Iranian territory.
This was reported by Ayhan Hajizadeh, the MFA spokesperson.
Haji-zadeh stated that measures are being taken to obtain the necessary permissions for Azerbaijani and other foreign nationals to cross the land border. According to the latest information, more than 600 Azerbaijani citizens have applied to cross the border, and 180 of them have already entered Azerbaijan. Additionally, requests from citizens of 77 countries are being reviewed, and arrangements are being made to facilitate their border crossings.
It is noted that the foreign ministers of Russia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, and many other countries, as well as officials at various levels, have expressed their deep gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support.
Currently, Azerbaijan is actively taking operational measures within the framework of international support and humanitarian responsibility to ensure the safety of its citizens.
