The meeting, organized by TASS as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), included James Jordan, News Director for Europe and Africa at the US-based The Associated Press; Simon Robinson, Executive Editor at the UK’s Reuters; and Karim Talbi, Editor-in-Chief at France’s Agence France-Presse.
Also attending were Martin Romanczyk, Head of News Service at Germany’s DPA agency, and Jose Manuel Sanz Mingote, Director of International Relations at Spain’s EFE agency.
Representatives from news agencies of China, Türkiye, Vietnam, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan also participated in the meeting.
It is noted that some of the participating countries have tense relations with Russia.
Held annually, this event aims to foster direct dialogue between the media and the government and facilitate international information exchange.
