Azerbaijan delivered a vibrant display of culture, sport, and tradition at this year’s Royal Windsor Horse Show, held in honour of the British royal family. The prestigious event once again served as a platform for international equestrian excellence and diplomatic representation.

Azerbaijan’s State Border Service cavalry unit returned to the show, captivating audiences with a dynamic and disciplined performance, showcasing the nation’s equestrian heritage and precision riding traditions.
Cultural Exhibition and Royal Gifts
The Azerbaijani pavilion drew significant attention with its exhibition of fine art and traditional crafts. A painting by artist Elnur Mahmudov was presented to King Charles III, symbolizing cultural friendship. Meanwhile, a handwoven carpet by Aygun Nagiyeva was gifted to Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, representing the depth of Azerbaijani craftsmanship.
Polo Victory for Azerbaijan
The sporting highlight came during an exciting polo match, where the Land of Fire – Azerbaijan team secured a 12–10 win over the Guards team of Windsor. Following the match, Reto Gaudenzi, President of the World Polo Federation, and Elchin Guliyev, President of the Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation, congratulated the Azerbaijani team on their impressive achievement.
Azerbaijan’s participation underscored its growing role in the global equestrian scene and deepening cultural ties with the United Kingdom.
