Vietnam proposes five-point plan for strategic cooperation with Azerbaijan

During a joint press statement with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam outlined a five-point plan to implement the agreements reflected in the Joint Statement signed today.

The first point emphasises the need to enhance contacts at all levels, including party-to-party, government-to-government, and parliamentary exchanges, as well as regional cooperation.

The second point calls for intensified trade and economic collaboration through the Intergovernmental Commission.

The third point highlights the need for increased cooperation in defence and security, including the exchange of experience in areas such as information security, transnational crime, and cybercrime.

The fourth point highlights the importance of expanding cooperation in culture, sports, tourism, education, and people-to-people exchanges, as well as interregional collaboration.

The fifth point stresses the importance of sharing views and coordinating positions on issues of mutual interest, while actively supporting each other in international forums such as the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
