Azerbaijan Culture Days has officially opened in Kyrgyzstan, bringing a vibrant celebration of Azerbaijani art, music, and literature to Bishkek from April 20 to 25.
Azerbaijan Culture Days kicked off in the capital of Kyrgyzstan this week, offering a rich program of cultural events aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy, the six-day event includes exhibitions, concerts, literary presentations, and master classes held at some of Bishkek’s leading cultural institutions.
A highlight of the program will be an evening of symphonic music dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, the renowned Azerbaijani composer. Hajibeyli, regarded as the founder of Azerbaijani classical music, is celebrated for composing Leyli and Majnun (1908), the first opera in the Islamic world, and for writing Azerbaijan’s national anthem.
The cultural days aim to foster deeper cultural understanding and collaboration between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan through shared artistic experiences.
