U.S. and Georgia discuss strategic partnership amid regional security concerns
Senior officials from the United States and Georgia met in Tbilisi to review bilateral relations and regional security amid ongoing diplomatic discussions.
On 15th April, President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili arrived in Azerbaijan for his first official visit abroad since being elected.
President Mikheil Kavelashvili was welcomed by Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, and other officials.
"Azerbaijan and Georgia are strategic partners and friendly countries. President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, has selected Azerbaijan for his first official foreign visit, highlighting the strategic partnership and strong ties between the two neighboring countries," - said Georgia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Zurab Pataradze.
According to Pataradze, President Kavelashvili is scheduled to hold high-level talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The agenda also includes bilateral meetings with Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister and other senior officials to discuss a wide range of cooperation issues.
Key topics of discussion will include regional security and joint economic initiatives. Pataradze emphasized the importance of continued collaboration in renewable energy and major infrastructure projects.
