Azerbaijan exported $23.45 million worth of goods to Armenia between January and September 2026, according to data released by the State Customs Committee on 19 October.
The exports represented 0.1 per cent of Azerbaijan's total exports over the nine-month period.
Imports from Armenia were far lower at around $96,500, bringing bilateral trade in goods to approximately $23.55 million.
The figures come nearly a year after Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced the lifting of restrictions on cargo transit to Armenia.
Speaking alongside Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on 21 October 2025, Aliyev said Azerbaijan had lifted restrictions in place since the occupation period.
The first shipment under the new arrangements consisted of Kazakh grain bound for Armenia.
Commercial shipments increased in the months that followed.
On 18 December 2025, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) sent 1,220 tonnes of AI-95 petrol to Armenia.
Deliveries expanded in 2026 to include further shipments of petrol and diesel.
According to Trend, Azerbaijan had shipped approximately 16,000 tonnes of diesel and 5,000 tonnes of AI-92 and AI-95 petrol to Armenia by 5 September.
Azerbaijan also enabled Russian goods, including grain, fertilisers and timber, to transit through its territory to Armenia.
However, these shipments are separate from Azerbaijan's own exports and are not classified as Azerbaijani-origin goods.
The latest customs figures highlight a sharp imbalance in bilateral trade, with Azerbaijan's exports to Armenia worth roughly 243 times its imports from the country.
Meanwhile, APA reported that Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan announced in September that Armenia had exported aluminium foil to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan's total foreign trade reached $37.21 billion in the first nine months of 2026, according to the State Customs Committee.
