Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio are set to sign a joint statement on the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, or TRIPP, during Mirzoyan’s official visit to Washington.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will sign a joint statement outlining the implementation framework for the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, Armenia’s foreign ministry said on Tuesday.

The announcement was made by Ani Badalyan, spokeswoman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry, who said Mirzoyan is on an official visit to the United States from 13 to 14 January. The visit includes talks with senior U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

“A joint statement on the TRIPP Implementation Framework is planned,” Badalyan said in a post on social media, according to Caliber.Az.

The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, also known as the Zangezur Corridor, is a major regional infrastructure initiative aimed at linking mainland Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan exclave through Armenia’s Syunik, or Zangezur, region.

The project was formally launched on 8 August, 2025, in Washington, through a declaration signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, alongside U.S. President Donald Trump.

TRIPP is intended to serve both as a peace-building mechanism and a strategic logistics corridor. Plans include the construction of new railways and roads, as well as oil and gas pipelines, fibre-optic networks and electricity transmission lines.

The broader goal of the initiative is to integrate South Caucasus countries into the so-called Middle Corridor trade route linking Europe and Asia, with the aim of boosting regional transit capacity, trade flows and economic diversification.
