Turkish defence giant Baykar showcased its Bayraktar TB2, Akinci, TB3, and Kizilelma models at the BAMEX’25 expo in Bamako, Mali. The company provides advanced national unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to African countries, contributing to security and stability across the continent.

For the first time, the fair featured stands exclusively from Turkish companies. Baykar exhibited scale models of its UAVs and presented its products and capabilities to visiting international delegations.

Baykar is particularly well-known in Africa for its Bayraktar TB2 UCAV, prized by several countries for intelligence, surveillance, and precision strike capabilities. Nations including Mali, Morocco, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Libya, Burkina Faso, Togo, Niger, Djibouti, Somalia, Rwanda, and Kenya have adopted Baykar’s nationally produced UCAVs.

In addition to armed UAVs, a range of payloads developed within the Turkish defence industry are also being exported. Since beginning UAV research and development in 2003, Baykar has generated 83% of its revenue from exports.

Over time, Baykar has become a leader in the defence and aerospace sector and ranks among the world’s top exporters of armed UAVs, positioning Türkiye at the forefront of the field. To date, the company has signed export agreements with 37 countries, with over 90% of its recent contracts directed towards international markets.
