Uzbekistan Airways orders 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliners worth $8.5 Billion

Uzbekistan Airways has finalised an historic $8.5 billion deal with Boeing to acquire up to 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, marking the airline's largest-ever purchase to modernise its fleet.

The deal includes firm orders for 14 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with options for an additional eight aircraft.

This acquisition represents the airline's largest-ever purchase and underscores its commitment to enhancing its long-haul capabilities. 

The announcement was made during the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York City, with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Boeing executives, and Uzbekistan Airways officials present to commemorate the signing.

The agreement is expected to support nearly 35,000 U.S. jobs, highlighting the international economic impact of the deal.
