Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev held meetings in New York with the CEOs of leading investment firms Brookfield Asset Management, Neuberger Berman, and Blackstone to discuss strategic partnerships and investment opportunities.
With Brookfield’s Bruce Flatt, Aliyev reviewed the firm’s cooperation with Azerbaijan’s State Oil Fund. Flatt praised Azerbaijan’s economic progress and recent steps to normalise relations with Armenia, and discussed the country’s renewable energy potential and role as a regional energy hub.
Aliyev also met Neuberger Berman’s George Walker to review current projects and future investments. Walker highlighted Azerbaijan’s growing importance in the company’s global portfolio and said new opportunities for collaboration are being explored.
Later, Aliyev met Blackstone’s President and Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Gray. Gray emphasised that Azerbaijan’s economic reforms and growth have created attractive opportunities for international investors. He noted Blackstone’s interest in expanding its successful cooperation with Azerbaijan, particularly with the State Oil Fund, and praised the country’s favourable investment environment.
The meetings underline Azerbaijan’s commitment to expanding long-term international investment and strengthening strategic economic partnerships.
