Iran names new IRGC Intelligence chief following Israeli strike

Anadolu Agency

Iran has appointed Brigadier General Majid Khademi as the new head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization after the previous chief, Mohammad Kazemi, was killed in an Israeli attack on Sunday.

The IRGC confirmed Kazemi’s death on June 15, stating he was targeted in the strike.

Since June 13, Israel has conducted a series of airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory attacks. The escalating conflict has further heightened regional tensions.
