Iran names new IRGC Intelligence chief following Israeli strike

Anadolu Agency

Iran has appointed Brigadier General Majid Khademi as the new head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization after the previous chief, Mohammad Kazemi, was killed in an Israeli attack on Sunday.

The IRGC confirmed Kazemi’s death on 15 June, stating he was targeted in the strike.

Since 13 June, Israel has conducted a series of airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory attacks.

The escalating conflict has further heightened regional tensions.
