Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif began a two-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Thursday, accompanied by a high-level delegation, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The visit, which spans June 5 to 6 and coincides with the Eid al-Adha holiday, will focus on enhancing cooperation in strategic sectors such as trade, investment, regional security, and support for the broader Muslim Ummah.
A key highlight of the visit will be Prime Minister Sharif’s meeting with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Both leaders are expected to discuss expanding economic partnerships and deepening diplomatic coordination amid evolving regional dynamics.
During his stay, Prime Minister Sharif will also express appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s constructive role in helping de-escalate the recent conflict between Pakistan and India.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the visit underscores the enduring and fraternal ties between the two nations, as well as their shared commitment to peace, prosperity, and unity in the Islamic world.
