Explosions shook parts of southern Lebanon on Friday night as Israeli strikes rippled across the Zahrani district, with the blasts travelling toward the coastal city of Sidon.

Local reports said further bombardments hit a valley linking al-Mseilih, Tuffahata and al-Najjariyah, an area marked by repeated flare-ups over recent months.

Lebanon’s National News Agency later confirmed the locations of the strikes, adding that no casualties had been recorded.

Emergency teams carried out inspections across the affected sites, while residents described a tense evening marked by intermittent blasts.

The Israeli military said its targets were Hezbollah infrastructure positions in the south.

Lebanese officials say ongoing ceasefire breaches have resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries, and that Israel continues to hold five hilltops seized during the latest conflict, along with long-occupied areas.

Hostilities that began in October 2023 escalated sharply in September 2024, leaving more than 4,000 people dead and about 17,000 wounded, according to Lebanese figures.
