Uzatom has been actively preparing for Grossi’s visit to ensure productive meetings aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation.
This visit follows a September meeting in Vienna between Grossi and Azim Akhmedkhajayev, director of Uzatom, where they discussed critical aspects of Uzbekistan's nuclear energy development. Topics included the reorganization of Uzatom and plans for constructing a small modular nuclear power plant.
The IAEA, established in 1957, plays a pivotal role in addressing global concerns and opportunities related to nuclear technology. Its creation was inspired by U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower's "Atoms for Peace" speech to the United Nations General Assembly on December 8, 1953.
