President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Türkiye on Tuesday for an official visit at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
“During the meetings at the Presidential Complex, the progress of the ‘Enhanced Strategic Partnership’ between the two countries and steps to further deepen this partnership will be discussed,” Burhanettin Duran, Turkish President's spokesperson stated on X.
The statement also said that current global and regional developments will be discussed during the meetings.
Leaders will also participate in the fifth meeting of the Kazakhstan–Türkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC).
“It is anticipated that various agreements will be signed during the interdelegation talks further to consolidate the legal foundations of Türkiye–Kazakhstan relations,” it added.
On Tuesday, Kazakhstan's leader held a series of meetings with senior executives of Turkish companies as following:
- President Tokayev was briefed on YDA Holding’s investment activities in Kazakhstan, with particular emphasis on three projects on the construction and operation of multi-specialty hospitals in Turkestan, Astana, and Petropavlovsk. Additionally, the company intends to expand multi-specialty production at the YDA Industrial Park and establish a sandwich panel manufacturing facility in Astana, as well as to establish a multimodal transit hub in Aktau.
- Tokayev expressed support for S Sistem Lojistik’s initiative to establish a logistics center at Aktobe International Airport, the project is being carried out in collaboration with Kazpost JSC. The company plans to expand its business operations in Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, and Aktau in the future. He stated that Kazakhstan had embarked on a comprehensive development of the Middle Corridor, aiming to position the country as a leading transit hub in Eurasia.
- a long-term partnership in agro-industrial sector was discussed with Tiryaki Holding that was planning to build a plant for deep processing of wheat and peas in Astana. The meeting also focused on development of efficient logistics for the transportation of agricultural products manufactured in Kazakhstan, digitalization of warehousing infrastructure and modernization of elevators.
- the President backed Orzax Group’s decision to build a dietary supplement factory in Turkistan region, emphasizing that the initiative would make a significant contribution to the diversification of domestic pharmaceutical industry and increasing the country’s export potential. The company plans both to expand its production base in Kazakhstan and to develop scientific-research and innovative areas.
