The decision, carried out overnight by erecting black walls around the pavilions, was condemned by Israel's defense ministry as “outrageous and unprecedented.”
A source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Monday that the instruction came from French authorities after Israeli firms failed to comply with a direction from a French security agency to remove offensive or kinetic weapons from the stands.
While three smaller Israeli stands and one run by Israel’s Ministry of Defense remain open, the move has further strained relations between France and Israel.
