A major Israeli airstrike in central Tehran has killed the head of Iran’s IRGC intelligence directorate and his deputy, dealing a serious blow to the country's internal security network.

The top leadership of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intelligence directorate was killed in a major Israeli airstrike in central Tehran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the strike killed Mohammad Kazemi, head of the IRGC’s intelligence directorate, along with his deputy, Hassan Mohaghegh.

The attack was part of a broader wave of Israeli airstrikes on dozens of targets across Tehran and marked one of the most significant blows to Iran’s internal security apparatus since the launch of Israel's preemptive Operation Rising Lion.

Among the targets hit were air defence systems, military sites linked to the IRGC—including one reportedly housing the intelligence officials—and ballistic missile facilities.
