Türkiye and Azerbaijan are deepening defense ties with two major joint military drills in Nakhchivan this June, aiming to strengthen strategic cooperation and regional readiness.
Türkiye and Azerbaijan will conduct two back-to-back military exercises in Azerbaijan’s autonomous Nakhchivan exclave this June, the Turkish Defense Ministry announced. Spokesman Zeki Akturk stated that the “Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK-2025” exercise will be held from June 20 to 30, following the “Indestructible Brotherhood-2025” drill scheduled for June 12 to 19.
Both aim to enhance friendship, coordination, and operational interoperability between the two nations' armed forces. A special observer day for both exercises will take place on June 30. Turkish personnel from the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade Command have already crossed the Hasret Bridge — the only land route linking Türkiye and Nakhchivan — to participate in the drills.
