France will contribute an additional €200 million to support reconstruction projects and Ukraine’s integration into the European market, - Prime Minister Denis Shmygal has announced.
These agreements were reached during his meeting with French Prime Minister François Bayrou in Paris.
Additionally, the French government has confirmed it will provide €1.5 billion in guarantees through export credit insurance.
"I expressed my gratitude to the Prime Minister for supporting French companies interested in investing in Ukraine. We also agreed to convene a joint government meeting, and we are currently preparing key agreements on cooperation in the defence industry, critical raw materials, and strategic sectors," - Prime Minister Shmygal stated via post on X.

The Ukrainian delegation also held "an in-depth dialogue" with French companies and the French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad to share information about the guarantees and incentives Ukraine offers to businesses.
“I also highlighted promising sectors for investment in Ukraine, including the defence industry, energy, transport and logistics, construction, agribusiness, IT, engineering, and the mining and processing of critical raw materials,” said Prime Minister Shmyhal. “French companies have shown strong interest in expanding their investments in Ukraine and are committed to actively contributing to our reconstruction. We value France’s vital role in Ukraine’s recovery and its support for rebuilding our infrastructure.”
Also, he discussed restoration of infrastructure and investment in security and defence at a meeting with the Director General of the French Development Agency.

"This is a priority area for us. We paid particular attention to supporting the private sector, which will form the basis for future reconstruction. I thanked him for opening a representative office in Ukraine and supporting the reconstruction," - Shmygal said.
The Agency is supporting 19 joint projects in Ukraine, and both sides are considering further expanding their cooperation. In particular, the initiatives are aimed at modernizing energy infrastructure, water supply systems, transportation networks, hospitals, and schools, as these efforts are essential to restoring and improving the lives of local communities.
