During a two-day visit to Moscow, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia's lead negotiator, Vladimir Medinsky to discuss efforts aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. While no concrete date or venue has been set, Türkiye reiterated its readiness to host new rounds of peace talks, following earlier negotiations in Istanbul where both sides exchanged prisoners and shared ceasefire proposals.
Fidan is also scheduled to meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and later travel to Kyiv to continue diplomatic engagements. The Moscow talks also touched on bilateral economic and energy relations. Russia has acknowledged Ukraine as a discussion topic and views countries like Türkiye, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman as possible hosts for future negotiations.
