A second man has been arrested in connection with a series of arson attacks targeting properties and a vehicle linked to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
The 26-year-old was detained by counter terrorism officers at Luton Airport around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. He is suspected of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life and is now in custody in London.
The arrest follows charges against 21-year-old Roman Lavrynovych, a Ukrainian national, who appeared in court on Friday accused of three counts of arson with intent to endanger life. He was remanded in custody.
The incidents include a fire at Starmer’s former family home in Kentish Town early Monday, a car set alight on the same street last Thursday, and a blaze on Sunday at another property in Islington connected to the prime minister. One person was rescued from the Islington building by emergency crews.
The Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command is leading the investigation due to the prime ministerial links. No injuries have been reported.
