Drone strikes worsen Sudan crisis with power cuts in Khartoum

Drone attacks in Khartoum state caused power outages, escalating Sudan's ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis.

Authorities in Sudan reported widespread power outages across Khartoum state following drone attacks attributed to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Repair efforts are underway to assess and mitigate the damage. Meanwhile, RSF drone strikes on Port Sudan and other regions have resulted in prolonged blackouts and compromised water supplies, increasing the risk of cholera outbreaks and other diseases.

On the ground, clashes continued in southern Omdurman, where the army launched offensives against RSF pockets. Fighting has also escalated in Western Kordofan.

The conflict has displaced over 13 million people, led to widespread hunger, and caused significant loss of life, with neither side gaining decisive control.
