North Korea’s Kim Jong Un met with a top Russian official to reaffirm support for Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine and strengthen defense ties.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has voiced strong support for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine during a meeting with a senior Russian official in Pyongyang.
The meeting with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu came after a South Korean intelligence report in late February suggested that North Korea may have deployed troops to assist Russia in its ongoing war.
During the talks, Kim reaffirmed North Korea’s firm commitment to supporting Russia’s actions in defense of its sovereignty and security.
The two officials discussed security cooperation and regional developments, reaffirming their aligned positions. Kim and Shoigu also pledged to deepen their strategic partnership, especially in defense and broader bilateral relations.
