U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to visit Saudi Arabia from March 10-12 for discussions with Ukrainian officials, according to a statement from the U.S. Department of State.
Rubio will also meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as stated by spokesperson Tammy Bruce.
Afterward, Rubio will travel to Canada for the G7 foreign ministers' meeting, taking place from March 12-14, the statement added.
Rubio had a conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on Friday, during which he conveyed that President Donald Trump is committed to ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict as soon as possible.
Following a disagreement with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on February 28, Trump paused military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
Zelenskiy has confirmed plans to visit Saudi Arabia for a meeting with Mohammed bin Salman on Monday and stated that Ukrainian diplomatic and military representatives will meet with the U.S. delegation on Tuesday.
