Türkiye is considering deploying troops to Ukraine as part of a future peacekeeping mission, according to reports. However, Ankara insists on being involved in the planning before committing to any such initiative.

According to sources familiar with the discussions, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan raised the issue of deploying Turkish troops in Ukraine during meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Bloomberg reports.

Türkiye has expressed its openness to contributing troops to a potential peacekeeping mission in Ukraine once the conflict ends. As NATO’s second-largest military force after the US, Türkiye is willing to support such an initiative. However, Ankara has made it clear that its participation would be contingent on being actively involved in the consultation and planning process for the mission.
