Erdogan, Aliyev discuss ties and security across South Caucasus

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke by phone with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to discuss bilateral ties as well as regional and global issues, Türkiye’s Communications Directorate said on Saturday.

During the call, Erdogan said Türkiye remains committed to deepening cooperation with Azerbaijan in all areas. He also reaffirmed Ankara’s support for efforts aimed at establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus.

Highlighting Türkiye’s ongoing Terror-Free Türkiye process, Erdogan stressed that the initiative will also help clear the wider region of terrorist groups and contribute to regional stability.

Aliyev welcomed Türkiye’s progress in the process and expressed hope that the initiative will reach its goal successfully.
