The Kremlin says Putin and Trump could meet soon, but preparations will take time as U.S.-Russia talks progress.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump could meet as early as this month, though organizing the direct talks will take time. That’s according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov described Tuesday’s U.S.-Russia talks in Riyadh as a crucial step toward resolving the Ukraine war.
The spokeperson noted that diplomatic efforts would intensify following an agreement between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
However, Peskov warned that while progress has begun, there is still a long way to go before a resolution.
